Giving Together to Support Women and Girls
The Women's Giving Circle of Howard County (WGC) is building a community of philanthropists to address the needs of women and girls in Howard County. Founded in 2002, WGC brings women together to learn, give, engage, and make a difference through collective philanthropy. Over the years, thousands of donors have contributed to WGC's grantmaking, programs, partnerships, and permanent endowment, creating a lasting source of support for women and girls in our community.
WGC is a fund of the Community Foundation of Howard County.
That commitment led WGC to create the State of Women and Girls in Howard County in 2022. By bringing together available data and examining our community through a gender lens, WGC sought to establish a baseline that could inform our grantmaking, strengthen community understanding, identify gaps in what we know, and encourage continued learning.
As we approach our 25th Anniversary in 2027, that same commitment is guiding us back to the baseline to ask what has changed, what has persisted, what we have learned, and what we should continue watching, learning, and asking.
