Leadership and Political Participation
In 2020, Howard County celebrated the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment, yet representation of women in Howard County lags at top levels. Only one female County Executive has ever served as the head of the executive branch of government in Howard County. Women are underrepresented in most areas examined. One noteworthy exception is the number of magistrates in the County which is 100% female.
